About Me

To create something sweet for someone brings me happiness.  Sweets are new and exciting each time I make one.  From deciding on a theme, mixing and baking each treat, to intricately weaving a masterpiece of sugar, I love each step of the process.  Each sweet allows me to share a moment and a smile with the person who savors it.

One of my fondest memories is making cookies with my Mom on our farm in Northeast Indiana.   My Grandma also lived on the same farm next to us where she baked and decorated wedding cakes. Needless to say, there was always an opportunity for me to help in the kitchen!  While my first cookies may have been graham cracker and icing sandwiches, my love of baking and creating has only continued to grow.  I continued to bake for friends and family during my time in college.  Throughout that time I experimented with many artistic mediums such as drawing, photography, and architecture, but decorating cookies and cakes became my preferred form of artistic expression. I enjoy experimenting with new ingredients, trying new recipes, and mastering an icing technique.  While I have an especially soft spot for chocolate indulgences, I also love the unlimited artistic opportunities decorated sugar cookies  present.   Baking and designing sweets for specific people to celebrate a variety of moments continues to be my passion.

My favorite part of the entire process is watching the person receive each sweet treat.  The moment they see my artwork for the first time and then savor each sweet morsel is something that never gets old.  It is my honor to share my love of baking and creating edible art for you.  The world needs a little more sweetness.  When you share a moment with someone close to you, allow me to help you make it extra sweet.

About Amy

I grew up living on our family farm in Albion, Indiana.  As a kid I was actively involved in cake decorating through the Whitley County 4-H program.  I received several Grand Champion ribbons and many times my cakes were showcased at the Indiana State Fair.  At Ball State University, I earned my Environmental Design and Elementary Education Degrees as well as a Minor in Studio Art.  I have taught 5th grade at West Clay Elementary for the past 10 years where I am inspired by each of my students.  I am going to teach Art at West Clay this next year where I will share my love for art with each of my students.   When I’m not teaching young minds or trying a new recipe, I enjoy hiking in the State and National Parks with my husband, Brad and our German Shepherd, Elsie.

For the past 9 years I have been baking and decorating cakes and cookies for family and friends.  Savor Each Sweet is happening this summer because of each of you!  Thank you for your support and love of sweets!
